My collegiate goals and aspirations include studying to become a cardiologist and playing professional soccer.
When I was around nine years old, my uncle had a heart attack. He had recently turned 50 years old. I remember my family being very concerned and scared for his health. Even though I was very young, I understood this was a very scary situation for my uncle and my family. That is when I decided I wanted to pursue medicine to become a cardiologist. I want to help people to become heart healthy, live longer lives, and to be entrusted with difficult health decisions. I will be able to advise families who go through similar situations to my family.
Another aspiration I have is to play professional soccer. When I get on the field to play soccer, my confidence soars and my heart races with excitement. I enjoy learning new skills from my coaches and teammates and I learn quickly. The techniques seem to come naturally for me. I can dribble, pass, and score using either my left or right foot. I can play any position, including goalie. I am a team leader and a team player. I encourage my teammates to never give up, even if we are losing. I was recently voted MVP by my teammates, mostly high schooler. I was one of three middle schoolers on the team.
While playing soccer, training for my second degree black belt, and participating in other sports to continue my physical fitness, I was able to maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher. I was so excited when I was presented with the President's Award for Educational Achievement.
These are some of the reasons for what makes me different from other recruits in character, athletics, and academics and why I am a good candidate for coaches to consider me for their team.
