My name is Keely Franklin. I am a 2024 Defensive Midfielder playing for the Spokane Sounders G05/06 DPL. I am a homeschool student, but played high school soccer at Pullman High School in Pullman, WA, where I was a 4 year varsity starter and made All-League honors every year. I will be taking a gap year after I graduate from high school, moving to Spain to train and compete with FC Malaga City Fememino from August 2024 - May 2025. I then plan to enroll in college and play collegiate soccer.
I am an American citizen, but was born in Bangkok, Thailand and grew up overseas, moving to the USA when I was 12 years old. My parents were missionaries with a large missions organization, which had our family calling Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan home as I was growing up. I began playing soccer in the courtyard of our apartment complex when I was 7. Some of the older boys were playing and I wanted to show them that I could play too. Once I realized that I could keep them from scoring, I knew it was a sport I wanted to try out. My parents signed me up with the only English speaking group of teams in our city, and I quickly fell in love with soccer. I continued to train in Taipei, eventually moving from a mixed gender team to a full girls team. In 2017, my family made the move from Taiwan to America, and I found that soccer was a way to make new friends. I joined up with the Demize soccer club in Springfield, MO, and for the first time, I was able to not just train, but also compete against other teams, which I found to be very fun to do. I continued training with Demize until my family moved to Pullman, WA where I joined up with the Spokane Sounders. Since 2019, I drive 3 hours round trip multiple days a week to train and compete across the state and the Pacific Northwest. I am grateful to have parents who fully support my love of the game of soccer.
I am excited about the opportunity to continue playing soccer in college, and hopefully, beyond. I am really interested in programs that will provide both an academic and athletic challenge for me. I believe that I have a lot to offer both personally and in the game of soccer to a team. I have a YouTube channel with highlights from the last few years. I would love it if you could take a quick look, and let me know if you would be interested in seeing me play in person. My family’s funds are limited, but I am committed to being at id camps with programs that are interested in me as both a player and a person. You can view my YouTube channel at
