Coming from a sports minded, competitive family, I have been playing sports for as long as I can remember. Both of my parents were in Club/Select sports and competed in High School at the Varsity Level. My mom played soccer in college and introduced me to the game when I was very young. I think I even had a soccer ball in my crib.
I play soccer, basketball and run track for Stanwood High School. Even though I am a multi-sport athlete, soccer has always been my favorite. I love the challenge of building new skill and learning about the tactical side of the sport. I think I continue to fall in love with the sport with every practice and game.
On both my Club and High School teams I play an attacking midfielder (10) and a left forward (11), but I am willing to play anywhere to continue to develop my game. I have the ability to use both feet with skill and power. My Club coach says my superpower is my soccer IQ. I understand defending and attacking principles. I anticipate well and have good vision. I have the ability to distribute the ball with weight and accuracy, providing the best opportunity for my teammates. Even though I can be a creative attacking midfielder that is able to be successful in the offensive 3rd with the finish, I also recognize the need to be an unselfish player and spread the ball.
Sports and soccer have helped me to become a better student-athlete: in school, outside of school, and when no one is watching. I believe I am determined, organized, kind, and optimistic. I have a strong work ethic and try to live my life with integrity. I know that if I want to continue to elevate my game, I have to push myself in all aspects and put my best effort out there.
My academics have always been a priority. I have a class rank of #1, a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and have received multiple academics awards over the years. My assignments are always in on time, fully completed and often exceed expectations. I always take the opportunity for extra credit or any other resources that can improve my grade even beyond 100%. I understand the importance of goal setting and I look to take on all opportunities for growth on and off the field.
I enjoy building bonds with my teammates and coaches. It’s important aspect in soccer that makes it fun. You have to know your teammates and have the right relationships built to become a better athlete and to move in the right direction for games, practices, and life.
I would love to participate and compete at the collegiate level and pursue my academics in the field of Environmental Science or business. I enjoy all types of outdoor activities. I love to surf, wake board, and snowboard. I like contrast of weather. I enjoy warm summers and snowy winters. The change in scenery helps me in my game and how I look upon life. I also love to travel and take on new experiences.
I am super excited to see what my final high school years hold.
