I want to swim at a program that can challenge me to become the best swimmer I can be. Throughout my whole swimming career, I have been on a very small team with limited resources and limited practice times. I would absolutely love to be a member of a team with the collective goal of pushing each other to be the best they can be. I am also really looking forward to having coaches with immense knowledge of the sport that will know exactly how to teach me how to improve. My times are not quite as fast as I would like them to be, but I have a lot of room for improvement that will come with hard work that I am more than willing to put in. I believe that swimming in college is the best next step for me to take in my journey as an athlete. My performance in swimming has not peaked, so I expect to drop a lot of time off of my swims in college as I mature physically and have more access to elite training.I would say I am just as competitive in academics as I am in athletics. I understand that academics are very important, and I have worked hard to keep a 4.0 GPA. My dream job would be to become a trauma surgeon which will require many years of school, but I am positive I am completely capable of achieving that goal. I think that I focus equally hard on performing my best in both swimming and academics as both are very important parts of my future as a student-athlete.
