Mia Howe '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been swimming ever since I was 7 years old. Ever since I first dove into the pool for the first time, I have felt a love for the sport, nothing else has been able to even come close to comparing to it. My passion for my sport has never changed and I have always dreamed of swimming at a collegiate level. I know having the opportunity to swim in college is something I would never be able to pass up. Swim has always been my crutch, always knowing I'll have a hard workout ahead of me to clear my head has always helped keep me so motivated, I have put 11 years of my life into the sport I love most and advancing to a collegiate level has always been something I have wanted to do. Being able to swim against athletes whose mindset is just as dedicated to the sport as mine is one thing I look forward to the most.

I have good technique, lots of determination to continuously improve, and mental toughness. I aim to lead by example and motivate my team members as a team leader. I am coachable and am always willing to help my coaches with practices to lead my team to improving. I strive to be one of the most diligent swimmers and recruits you'll meet. 

I practice year-round on technique and speedwork to improve in any way for the season, along with previous year-round swim teams, lifting weights and participating in high school track and field to contribute to my athleticism. 

In the classroom, I study to maintain a high GPA. Always striving to be my best in the classroom as well as outside of it. I want to attend college where I can push myself in the classroom and in the pool. I am open to all options; I ultimately just want to find a college that best matches me with fellow students and athletes with the same mindset to help push me to make me the best swimmer and student and that has the highest level of competition possible. I want to excel as a role model for all of my peers, for my community, and for my family.
