I have been swimming competitively for eight years and have loved every minute in the water and on the pool deck.
Thriving on my regular schedule of swim practice and dryland training, I love taking energy and development from those sessions into the competitive environment of swim meets. I have a huge sense of achievement seeing the results of my hard work.
My determination and dedication paid off last year when I dropped my 100 fly time from 1:08 to a 1:04, and I'm confident my times will continue to improve with continued pool and dryland training.
I aim to swim at the highest level possible, continuing my commitment to both athletics and academics as I pursue my undergraduate degree in kinesiology and my ultimate goal of a physiotherapy career.
Through my many years of swimming, I have learned a great deal – from my personal experiences, my coaches and my teammates. These many valuable life lessons will serve me well in the years to come, but I am also grateful to be able to share those experiences while volunteering with Victoria's Special Olympics team.
In my spare time, I enjoy writing, textile arts and supporting my community, including crocheting blankets for those in care with Victoria Hospice.
