Ever since I was little I loved the water and I always felt that it was my second home. To this day anytime I travel I always have to visit the local pool. I have always had the dream to swim in college to improve and be the best that I can. I not only want to swim at a collegiate level, but I also want to do great things within swimming and help those around me. I have been competitively swimming for 14 years and currently swim on the Brentwood SeaWolves, a local year round team. Growing up I always felt different or shy around others, but the pool always comforted me. I realized that the harder I worked, the better I would get, and the more successful my swim career would be. I understood and knew from a very young age what I wanted to do with my life and the sport that I love so much. I am willing to do anything to try to achieve those dreams. Swimming has taught me that if I put my mind to something I can achieve it.
I would be a great candidate for your team because I am always striving to get better as well as push those around me. I always get to the pool early and am willing to help. I consistently push myself to complete my sets, focus on my technique, and increase my speed. I feel that I am different from other recruits in character because I always make it a point to be kind and inclusive to all that I meet. I want to help make a difference, not just inside of the pool but also out of it.
Currently as a Junior I am Varsity Captain; which I have been since Freshman Year, for my high school swim team. Also, on my year round club team, the Brentwood SeaWolves, I am an athlete and team representative for Pacific Swimming. I have been in Leadership since middle school and it has taught me how I can make a difference and what I can do for others. I love the sport of swimming because it is a sport where athletes truly get to experience what hard work and dedication can bring you. In swimming we constantly put in more hours than we can count, staring at a black line, and trying to get across the pool as fast as we possibly can. I want to help build the sport of swimming and show others what they are missing, but most importantly be a part of a team and help spread the sport of swimming as much as I can.
