Hello,
My name is Katelyn Johnson (Katie), I am currently a senior at Fort Collins High School and looking forward to starting my college career and majoring in Criminal Justice. My goals for college are to continue with the same academic excellence as I have established in high school as well as continuing with my love of swimming and competing at the collegiate level. I began swimming competitively at the age of eight and discovered a passion for it that ignited my competitive nature. I have swam with the SCCA Sharks summer league since that time and have added high school swimming to that. I have competed at the state level on three occasions with a goal of adding a fourth this year. This year I was selected as a Jr. Coach for the team. This was an invaluable teaching experience, that enabled growth within myself as well as an opportunity to mentor younger swimmers. My academic achievements in school thus far include, National Honors Society, Honor Roll and academically lettering. I currently have acquired 15 college credits with a grade of B or better. I have accomplished all of this while working between 20-25 hours per week. I am dedicated to my school, my team, my coworkers and my goals. I have received accolades from my coaches and teachers about my natural leadership qualities, loyalty and ambition.
