Hello, my name is Julia Nevins, and I'm a part of the class of 2020. I have been swimming since I was 10-years-old for Trumbull Pisces, club team, and I am currently the Captain of the Trumbull High School Swim Team. Through hard work and dedication, I have consistently dropped time each year and will continue to.
During my high school season, I was a finalist all four years in both the FCIAC Conference and CT State Qualifying meet. At these meets, some of my best swims and memories with the team have taken place. Last year during FCIACS I placed 4th in the 100 yard butterfly with a 58.57 making me a Second Team All FCIAC athlete. On top of this, our team broke the 200 yard freestyle relay record. Another highlight of the season was coming in 8th place as a team at the State Open Championship after coming under 20th the year before. Swimming with Pisces, I have broken over 4 records as well.
I'm excited to see how the training at the college level will propel me in the sport. I can't wait to find a team that feels like family; I'm very excited to continue my swimming career at the collegiate level, as swimming is a huge part of my life, and will continue to be.
