August 2019Personal Statement
I was born in Florida, so I have been swimming for fun my whole life. I competed as a gymnast doing artistic and acrobatic gymnastics for seven years, including being the 2018 AAU level 7 Acro Trio National champion. Three years ago, I broke my ankle while competing vault. During my recovery, I swam, ran track, and competed in volleyball. I realized that swimming was my favorite and have competed in it ever since. Swimming has helped me to build the characteristics of hard work and perseverance that has helped me be successful in high school. I look forward to attending a college that will help me achieve my goals in swimming and academically.
