Ever since I was little I have loved being in the water. But I was not introduced to the real competive side of water sports until my freshman year. With the basic “how-to” under my belt, I fell in love with swimming. With my dad being in the military, I was never able to put my roots down anywhere. We move at a constant pace, but when I started swim I found something that spans the miles and allows me to grow despite my location. Ever since then, practice is what I look forward to every day. My team became my family, and I look forward to pushing and challenging myself daily. Swimming has taught me so much about sacrifice, leadership, service, and what being part of a team means. I consider myself a leader of my highschool and club team. My friends often question why I choose swimming over so many other social activities. The truth is, even with its struggles, swimming is what drives me. I am excited to see the growth I will have with my future college team.
Serving my team not only entails working hard in the pool, but also includes me doing well with my studies. I take all of my classes at a college level, and have challenged myself to grasp concepts at the highest level I can. I have learned good time managment, and I am able to balance my training and my learning.
In my future college I not only want a strong athletic program, I look for an acedemic challenge as well. Challenges are what motivate me. I look forward to the journey I will have with my new team and what college brings.
