2025 HighlightsHi! I’m Selena Nicor-Pereira, a swimmer from Oldsmar, Florida. Swimming has shaped who I am, it’s taught me resilience, discipline, and how to thrive within a team. As a junior captain of my high school swim team, I’ve learned the importance of leading with both encouragement and accountability. I love creating an environment where everyone feels supported and motivated to do their best, no matter their skill level or experience.
Through both challenges and successes, I’ve grown not just as an athlete, but as a person. I continue to contribute to my team by showing up with positivity, focus, and a strong work ethic, knowing that leadership is about consistency and connection. These experiences have made me appreciate how teamwork in swimming shows the dedication it takes to reach personal goals.
Outside the pool, I’m equally driven as a student and community member. I stay connected to my culture through Filipino cultural dancing and am passionate about pursuing a career in medicine. My goal is to join a collegiate program where I can keep challenging myself in the classroom, in the pool, and as a teammate while also contributing leadership, commitment, and enthusiasm to a program built on unity and hard work.
