Coaches:
I have been swimming since I was four years old. Since I can remember, my biggest goal has been to one day have the privilege to swim at the most competitive collegiate level. Giving me the possibility to achieve my goals and objectives, and at the same time to continue growth as an athlete. I understand that swimming in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity and unique experience, something which I have no intentions on missing. Moreover, I am very passionate for the sport that has become a part of my lifestyle and identity. I cannot see myself without it, because swimming just defines me!
I consider myself a dedicated and hard working person. With the many ups and downs that I've had to overcome many obstacules, I've learned to not take anything for granted in or out of the pool. I have put in an extensive amount of sacrifice, persistence, and perseverance all in the hopes of making my dreams a reality, which in some cases have paid off and in other cases, I continue to strive for. I believe that the combination of a right attitude, discipline, and coachable attributes allowed me to achieve a remarkable level of commitment and work in this sport. I know the job isn't done yet, and there is still more to accomplished.
I am also a very active and competitive swimmer with the techniques and times to succeed in college, I also believe that I have an immense amount of potential to keep growing, developing, and improving as an athlete. I am convinced that there is a lot of progress awaiting, as one of the youngest swimmers in my class of 2018. My biggest vision is to one day in the next 4 years at college, achieved Olympic trial cuts. Always a team leader, but more important a team player that leads by examples in and out of the pool while also encouraging my teammates.
In the classroom, I have sacrificed and worked hard just as much as I have in the pool. I have managed to maintain excellent grades, exceptional academic curriculum, and high GPA, as well as taking AP courses and being a part of the IB program. I was selected as Valedictorian of my class when I have finished 8th grade, and now in high school I am a member of the National Honor Society, among other clubs and organizations inside and outside the school. I am an active member of the community, as well as take time for summer internships.
Finally; I am determined to attend the college where I can continue to push myself in a very selective academic environment, and at the same time have the opportunity to train and compete at a high and rigorous level of swimming in college. I hope to be a great role model, community member, and teammate in the college environment, which is a quality that will benefit me and continue to express with all my peers in the many years after college. I look forward to making my family, my team, my teachers, my coaches, and most importantly myself proud.
Recently proud committed to The University of Chicago!!!!
