Ainsley Hunter '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Ainsley Hunter and I am a member of Rigby High School's 2024 graduating class. I began swimming at nine years old on a summer team in Colorado.  It was the first sport that I really enjoyed, and when I turned twelve I joined a more competitive club team. When I was thirteen years old my family and I moved to Idaho. After taking a break from swimming for about a year, I joined my high school swim team. This was when swimming really began to change my life. It was amazing to actually be working toward something on my own, and with my team. It was completely different than anything else I had been a part of. When the high school season ended I began swimming for a year-round club team, Voltage Aquatics. 

Through swimming I have learned how important it is to make goals and have a positive attitude and open mind set. For example, I always have a goal set for each upcoming meet and an end of season goal written down so I always know what I am working toward. It's hard to explain how much swimming has impacted my life and how I now view obstacles, but because of swimming I have learned that in order to accomplish something big you need to accomplish small things first. Swimming is so important to me, and I cannot imagine my life without it.
