My name is Inaya Gray. I am 14 years old, and I am a member of the class of 2023 at Bolingbrook High School in Bolingbrook, IL. I have been a member of the Academy Bullets Swim Club (the most highly-regarded swim club in Illinois) since September 2016. I am interested in the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and learning more about your swim program. I am a year-round swimmer, so I am accustomed to commitment. I feel that such a level of commitment would be an asset to the UIC swim program.
I swim a variety of distances and strokes, but my specialty is the breaststroke. I have received the Swimmer of the Week Award from the Academy Bullets, and I have competed in and placed at Regional Championship meets. My best times are as follows:

200-Yard Backstroke 2:46.76 (achieved in December 2018; 12 years old at the time of competition)
200-Meter Backstroke 3:19.61 (achieved in June 2019; 13 years old at the time of competition)

The times are current as of October 5, 2019. I have not competed since that date due to a concussion sustained as a result of a motor vehicle accident and then the subsequent COVID-19 outbreak. I will provide you with updated best times after I resume competition during the fall of 2020. Although I have not been able to swim competitively for some time now, I have been committed to staying in shape and focusing on skill development while I have been on hiatus from formal practices and competitions.
Please feel free to contact my coach, Brian Brown [[email protected] and (708) 267-1783] for additional information.
My current GPA is 3.67. The academic reputation of UIC piques my interest.
Sincerely,
Inaya Gray
