I have been swimming for ten years. I started club swim when I was eight years old. Since joining the Bluefins club team, I've had eight different head coaches. It has been difficult overcoming different styles of coaching to help my stroke mechanics, but have still continually improved my personal best times in all my events.
When I started High School, I was named to the varsity team my freshman year and won the sportsmanship award for my attitude during meets as well as practices and my dedication to the team. I hoped that I would get more stability with the coaching situation, but still have had two different coaches during my first three years of High School and will have yet another new coach for my senior year. I still will not let that setback detour me from trying to reach my own personal goals especially in the 500 free which has become my favorite event.
I've also attended swim camp at IUPUI in Indianapolis as well as two camps at our own YMCA hosted by the head swim coach of Ohio State University.
My goals in college are to graduate with a degree in Marine Biology, I want to be the one to finally crack the dolphin language someday. My athletic goal is to do my best and be a good teammate and help the team succeed in any way I can.
I am a good addition to any college that accepts me because of my academic success as well as my achievements in the pool.
