I have been swimming competitively for club teams since I was 8 years old. While I have played other sports over the years, including golf at the varsity level this past year for my school, swimming has always been the one sport I cannot imagine leaving.
Outside of swimming, I raise cattle and am very involved in school as well as community clubs and organizations. I have been in positions of leadership within my 4-H club and school's FFA chapter. I have also been a part of the Junior Leaders through 4-H. I am a mentor for my school's freshman orientation each year and a member of student council too. The experiences and opportunities I have had as a result of being a part of those extracurriculars have helped me to grow as a leader and as a person. I have learned responsibility, diligence, and the importance of time management while participating in these various activities. In addition, I have learned the importance of building relationships with people.
In school, I take learning and my grades very seriously. I have a GPA of 4.09, I am in the top 10% of my class, and a member of National Honor Society. In college, I would like to attend an academically challenging school that will prepare me for my career path. While I am unsure what field I would like to go into, I am interested in economics or sports marketing.
At the collegiate level, I want to be a part of a team that emphasizes, and is competitive in, both athletics and academics.
