Personal Statement
I was born and raised in Cyprus, a small island in the Mediterranean sea. I have dual citizenship, American and Cypriot as my father is American and my mother is Cypriot. I attend the Grammar school of Nicosia, a private English speaking school which prepares students for the British exams for University entry (IGCSE and IAL exams). I will be graduating in June 2025 and I am planning to begin my University studies in USA in the Fall of 2025.
I have been swimming since the age of 6 years old at the Nicosia Nautical Club and have been swimming competitively since the age of 8.
My recent rankings in Pancyprian (National) swimming competitions:
2024 - 2nd place at Youth category at 200m LCM backstroke @ 2:41.71 (personal best)
2024 - 4th place at Youth category at 50m LCM backstroke @ 34.01 (personal best)
Personal Best @ 100m LCM backstroke was at a Pancyprian swimming meet on 14.4.2024 @ 1:14.46
Swimming has been a big part of my life, and I would like to keep it in my life during my University studies! Swimming has shaped me to the person I am today. It has not only made me a better athlete, but also helped me be a more resilient, focused, and balanced individual.
