Personal Statement
Some might say I “came into the game late ” but I try not to let that deter me from performing exceedingly and abundantly above what anyone would’ve thought of me. Consequently I am extremely humble yet driven to compete at high standards. Within my first couple months of training I made it onto my first 2018 Bahamas National Swimming Team (even if it was just to swim relays). The swim atmosphere was just so exhilarating; right then and there I became hooked.
My mother is my biggest motivator and every chance she gets reminds me to “‘leave it all in the pool”. I hope to accomplish my very best by performing efficiently at practice, maintaining a positive attitude towards hardships and acknowledging my faults whilst aiming to rectify them.
Going to college and being a part of a swim team has continued to preserve as my dream for numerous years.
I am very much motivated and would like to see my dreams and goals manifested for the future. I do want to make something of my life and give back tremendously to those who have greatly impacted my life positively. I have shown my potential and what is destined for me to be a great leader. I embodied traits of responsibility, discipline, hard work, generosity and honesty. I know that in all that I do my work will lead me to be a successful leader.
Although still unsure, my career aspiration is to become a veterinarian where in college I may be able to take up the major in Biology/Animal Sciences. As a student athlete I have been diligent in exceeding a 3.3 GPA throughout my high school years. This exhibits my dedication and commitment in becoming a well rounded college student. Henceforth, it is my wish that with this opportunity to go to college abroad I will one day be able to give back to my community which has molded me into such an individual.
Best regards,
Jada Deane.
