Personal Statement
I have been swimming since I was months old. But I stopped swimming because of a chlorine allergy. But at 8 years old I decided to swim again. Since I re-entered the pool, I knew that it was the sport where I wanted to practice day in and day out at a high level at a collage. I haven't had a chlorine allergy since I was a baby. I know that playing at a collage is an honor and a unique experience that could change my entire life.
I have good stamina, good strength, good mental health, and good nutrition. I am very easy to train, I am a person who almost never misses training. And even though there are bad days, those are the days that I try to try harder. I always pay attention to the observations that my coach makes to me, and I put them into practice. I strive every day to be one of the hardest working swimmers you'll find.
I work hard all year on my swimming skills. Every year I go 3-5 weeks to swim for the Lakeside team in Texas. This year I went to California, to Palm Springs, to have swim clinics with a coach from The Race Club team.
I have gone to high-level competitions such as the Junior World Cup in Nentanya, and the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile, and UANA in 2019 in Perú. And I have won a total of 5 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 3 bronze medals in the games of the Central American and Caribbean Confederation of Swimming Amateurs (CCCAN).
In the classroom I study a lot and pay a lot of attention. I have been on the honor roll for having a 94.5 average in my classes. Also, I entered honors mathematics for next year, since I really like math. I am also a volunteer of an organization called "Techo", which teaches low-income children in Peru math.
I want to attend a collage where I can do my best both in sports and in studies. I am open to all options and I want to achieve the highest level of competition possible and exceed my limits. I hope to become a great athlete and student, and be a role model for all my friends, community, country and make my parents proud.
