Personal Statement
I started swimming competitively at the age of 11, but I became passionate at 13 when I learned how to overcome my limits in the pool, and the atmosphere of a team, that was almost a family all cheering and working together to get a common goal was amazing. Start swimming at 11 was really challenging because I had to catch up with the swimmers that started younger, but with daily hard work, patience and building a strong mindset I achieve to get where I am today. The moments that I treasure the most is when I classified to compete wearing the colors of my flag in the Cinco de Mayo Swim Meet (TX 2017), International Children Games (Jerusalem 2018) and also in the the most important swimming competition in Mexico Juegos CONADE 2021.
During my swimming career I have trained with 3 different teams and coaches, and a summer in Azura (FL 2019) and with each one I have learned different skills that now make me a more complete athlete so I can say that I have the ability to adapt to different training methods or teams.
A few months ago, I decided to open up my swimming horizons, so in March of this year I took part in the National Marathon Swimming in Huatulco (10km) where I finished 3rd, and qualified for Mexican Nationals. Hence, in addition to my pool swimming preparation I'm focusing on gaining aerobic base and strength to endure the 10 kilometers on the fastest pace possible, so on May 6th 2022, I can get the best results at nationals.
Swimming have completely shaped the person that I am today it has teach me perseverance, discipline and that success is earned every day which I have applied in all aspects of my life, I love to be an athlete!! therefore I would like to continue my swimming career in college and I am also open for triathlon and marathon swimming.
