Personal Statement
Sadly I am retiring from competitive swimming, and no long seek scholarship. I feel staying in New Zealand during this global upheaval is the best for me. Thank you to everyone for their interest and encouragement. #keepswimmimg ☮
Qualifying for NZ National Age Groups and competing at Nationals was one of my first big goals for my swimming career. Being new to my clubs top level swim squad, I was on the back foot for training so I had to train harder in order to make the qualifying times. My first national level meet was 2017 New Zealand Short Course. This was such an amazing experience, but I still didn’t come away with the results I was hoping for. For the 2018 New Zealand Short Course my training had been consistent. I was confident and ready and came away with some really positive results. But I still wanted more. 2019 National Age Group Champs is what I am working towards now. April 16 I will be in the pool smashing some solid times and maybe even a podium. My team and I have learned the value of teamwork and commitment this year and know how important it is. I’m looking for a solid program that will suit me not just athletically but also academically. Being a team player, I think I have the talent and work ethics to be part of your team!
