Personal Statement
My name is Caterina Coughlin and I live in Rome, Italy. I am an American citizen born in Rome. I lived in Ireland from 2000 to 2002, then my family moved to Mozambique where i lived from 2002 to 2007.I lived in Cleveland Heights for the next year and half before coming back to Italy where I've been living ever since.
I am going into my last year at Liceo Virgilio secondary school. Over the last two years, I have had an GPA equivalent to 3 (B) . I will be taking my SAT's in October and doing my Maturità (secondary school leaving certificate exam) in July.
My intention would be to pursue a major in psychology.
I began swimming at a competitive level in Cleveland with Shaker Sharks, when I was 8. Now I swim at Nuoto Aurelia, which is a elite team. I train six times a day for two hours for 8 months. In June-July, we train 9 times a week, with three double sessions.
I'm a very determined swimmer, and one of the best swimmers in my category in the Lazio region (I recently came second in the Lazio Region in the 100m butterfly, 20 July 2019). My main stroke is butterfly, which I race at 50 and 100 meters.
