Personal Statement
As an 11th grader in my final year of high school, I am eager to take the next step in my swimming journey at the collegiate level. Growing up on a small island with only one 25-meter pool and training just six sessions a week with limited flexibility, I’ve learned the importance of making the most of every opportunity. These challenges have shaped my resilience, creativity, and unwavering work ethic—qualities that helped me compete at the Olympic stage.
What sets me apart from others are my ability to thrive despite limitations, my dedication to improvement, and my adaptability in overcoming challenges. I’ve balanced rigorous training with academics, excelling in both while staying focused on my goals. I’m also deeply team-oriented, coachable, and committed to pushing myself and those around me to succeed.
I’m ready for the opportunity to bring my determination, adaptability, and passion to a college program that values hard work as much as I do.
