Personal Statement
My name is Catherine Silotch and I have been swimming competitively since I was nine years old. For as long as I can remember this sport has granted me a great deal of success, not only in terms of dexterity, but also in different aspects of my life, such as school and activities. I believe that sport not only enhances physique but brings out traits like enthusiasm, perseverance, and efficiency that are essential to a prosperous life. My dream is to have the opportunity to swim in a college that not only accommodates my athletic career but also supports my academic ambitions as well. Grades have always been of paramount importance and I consistently aim for only the best marks. I work well under pressure and can easily adapt to any situation that I'm confronted with. My teammates often portray me as a hard-working and spirited person that's easy to get along with. Duly, I'm comfortable with any size college or location although I have a hard time picking a field of study as I enjoy and excel in all subjects. This being said, majors such as biomedical engineering and neuroscience hold greater interest to me because I love all sciences and find gratification in helping others.
