I am a swimmer who has learned a lot from both sports and the arts. Over the years, my parents have encouraged me to try many activities, including ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, modern dance, track, and piano. These experiences have helped me become disciplined, determined, and creative, which I also bring to my swimming.
Swimming has been a big part of my life since I was a child. I started swimming lessons early and competed in my first meet at age seven. However, I didn’t have a competitive nature as a child, so I decided to stop swimming and explore other activities. When I was 12, I felt ready to return to the pool with a stronger focus and desire to compete. Since coming back, I have grown a lot as an athlete, dropping significant time in my events and taking on the role of a mentor for younger swimmers.
These experiences have taught me the importance of hard work and never giving up. Whether learning a new dance routine or practicing the piano, I’ve realized that staying focused and consistent helps me improve in everything I do. These lessons have shaped my approach to swimming, where I always try to lead by example and create a positive environment for my teammates.
Looking ahead, I am excited to join a college swim team that values dedication, teamwork, and support. I want to contribute not only as an athlete but also as someone who inspires others. With hard work and gratitude, I am committed to making my coaches, teammates, and family proud while continuing to grow in and out of the pool.
