Personal Statement
My name is Naraia which means "child of God". I'm of the Christian faith and I believe that God has lead me this far. He has also gotten me through tough times. I was born in the small country of Barbados or "Bim" which is part of the Caribbean. What I love about Barbados are the gorgeous beaches and scenery. Going to the beach is such a relaxing experience along with this I enjoy the local cuisine and the friendliness of the locals. I currently attend The St.Michael School, I am in fifth form and am expected to graduate in 2025. Being at The St.Michael School has helped to increase my interest in sciences especially Chemistry and Biology. Studying these subjects has made me interested in studying medicine, particularly the field of Dentistry and later Orthodontics. I hope to gain a scholorship at a well rounded university where I can better both my academics and swimming. I believe that the opportunity to study abroad and still maintain my sport would encourage and inspire other Barbadian athletes.
