Personal Statement
Being fully passionate about swimming, I devote abundant amount of time and effort into the sport more than anything in my life. Regardless of the ups and downs in my swimming journey, I remain committed, determined, and tough-minded; not letting anything be an obstacle. In the pool, I strive to be the best version of myself; performing every kick, turn, and dive with a purpose.
I might not be the fastest swimmer on the team, or be the best at what I do, but I possess a strong mindset. A strong mindset that won’t take counts of the number of times I fall, but the number of times I pick myself up, and keep trying. That’s what makes me different from other swimmers in my community.
Outside the pool, I seek to involve myself in any and all opportunities that tickle my fancy, whether it’s learning about new topics, or helping the needs of other people. I enrolled myself in an internship at Education First for four weeks, am a member of a school club that teaches less fortunate kids English (EQED), started a summer program to enable kids to learn how to swim, contributed in swimming marathons that donated money to less fortunate schools in Jacaranda, and many more.
