Personal Statement
Since I was a little girl, my final and biggest goal has always been to stand on the Olympic podium. Although I have been told these dreams are far-fetched, my head remains strong and my body urges on through the water with passion. I am hard-working and I am willing to give what is required of me to reach my goal. The differences that lie within me compared to other athletes are my height, muscular build, and my desire for constant improvement. As I live in Zambia, only limited resources are available as aid for my development as an athlete. Even though I am a dedicated swimmer, my goal throughout high school has been to maintain a good balance with academics and sport. My grades are above the average class grades and therefore I was selected to be a member of the National Honours Society in 2016, and was finally inducted in 2017. The society betters my balance even further as I now took part in community service and school and sport activities and I would attempt to maintain my balance in university in 2018.
