Swimming is my passion and I really want to continue to swim in college. I am the hardest worker in the pool, but when it comes time for the meets, the people I lap daily always come out ahead. I seem to get best times in practice, but struggle to compete at the level where I know that I can. I have a few small things that have held me back these past two years, as I have not dropped any time in anything. First, I have just been diagnosed with severe anemia due to heavy bleeding from my periods. Hopefully, as soon as I am able to carry oxygen in my body again, I will be able to compete at a high level again. Second, I swim for a really small rural team and I know I am a diamond in the rough. My team does the best that it can with the limited pool time/resources that it has, but they can only do so much. I feel that when I get into a college program with good training and proper coaching, I will just explode.
