Hello my name is Kaelin Forscutt. Thank you for taking some time out of your day to look at my athlete profile. I am a Christian athlete and I believe that God has truly blessed me with the ability to train and compete everyday. He has given me a passion and a drive to work as hard as possible every day and go after my dreams. I am an extremely motivated athlete, and I will always give you 100% everyday. I will listen and apply the corrections given to me by my coaches. I started swimming when I was eight years old and I have loved it ever since. I like to give my Dad a lot of credit for teaching me what it means to work hard and push through pain. Every summer my family goes on vacation to Arizona, since I was eight years old my Dad has been taking my brother and I down to the high school track and doing cardio workouts with us. This includes doing bleachers, running sprints and laps around the track, doing footwork on the ladder, running yards on the football field and pushing the sleds . As a young kid I used to hate doing track workouts, I remember being out there in the scorching heat, cramping up, wanting the workout to be over. My Dad kept on pushing me and soon enough I learned how to push myself through those hard workouts and now I really enjoy going out there with my Dad and pushing it as hard as I can. I am so thankful that my Dad took the time to make my brother and I these workouts. Without them I would not have learned so early what it meant to suffer in a good way and work through the pain, a skill that is so valuable in the sport of swimming. By learning this at such a young age I was able to use the mental toughness my dad taught me to get through the toughest practices and I will always be grateful for this. I am a very hard working student and have had to work very hard to get the marks I received. I attend the University of Winnipeg Collegiate which is a high school located within a University. The teachers treat us like university students and we have a very heavy work load. Because of this I have learned how to balance school with swimming. My midterms are always scheduled right after a big competition every year so I have learned the how to balance studying and resting during travel meets. My favorite athlete of all time is Brandon Burlsworth, and I aspire to be like him every day. When I'm swimming a really hard practice I think of how hard Brandon always worked to make his dreams come true and that always motivates me to keep working as hard as I can. The football coaches at the University of Arkansas tell players to "do it the Burls way" that means to do things the right way and never taking the easy way out. Everyday I try to "do it the Burls way" whether that be in swimming, school, or anywhere else. I believe that God is going to lead me to the school that is right for me and I will be praying a lot about the decision of where to attend University. God has blessed me with chance to take my swimming to the next level and I can hardly wait to see where he leads me!
