I started swimming when I was five years old at Goldfish Swim School and have loved it ever since. The funny thing is, when I was younger, I never aspired to be an Olympian or to swim in college. Although, over the years, as I’ve accomplished more and more, I realized how much I love, not only the sport of swimming, but all the great things you can achieve within the sport. Through the ups and downs I’ve had so far with my swimming career, I’ve realized how much I value swimming and the opportunity it gives me to work hard at something I love.
I am very hardworking both in and out of the pool, maintaining good grades and doing everything I can to succeed. I am a very coach-able swimmer and do my best to encourage and support my teammates.
I am looking to swim for a college that wants me and that I can contribute to the team, but I am still unsure as to what I would like to study. My family and I have had multiple discussions trying to identify my strengths for career studies. As I begin my senior year in high school, I have been a part of the school newspaper, taken honors and AP classes, joined multiple different clubs/activities, and swam on the varsity team in my previous 3 years leading into my senior year as a co-captain. I am looking forward to achieving greater things, both academically and in the pool.
