Personal Statement
Within my 6 years of swimming, I have faced the question "does this still make me happy?" time and time again, and my answer is still yes. The satisfaction after an amazing season, the effortless feeling when my technique is on point, but especially the pride in watching my teammates succeed keeps me coming back.
My school, The International Academy, is ranked 9th for public schools in the nation and focuses on the International Baccalaureate program. Balancing school and swim is a lesson I learned early on, and through both, I continue to learn new ways to push myself to new limits.
In the future, I still see myself swimming. Whether on a college team or club, I know that swimming helps keep me happy and balanced which is especially poignant for college. In college, I hope to study biology and broaden my world view.
