Addy Wiers '27 Recruiting Profile

     Hi! My name is Addy Wiers, and I swim for the Hammerhead Swim Club in Harbor Springs, Michigan. I began my swimming career on the Charlevoix Stingray Swim Team, but switched over to the Hammerheads when the Stingray team shut down. I am an extremely hard worker and will not give up, even when things get challenging. My times have been steadily improving over the years and I have been consistently adding mileage to my training, as well. Although I am most passionate for swimming, I also participate in soccer and cross country. These sports help to keep me in great shape during my off-season. I still swim for cross training occasionally during these seasons, though! 

     Academics are also very important to me. I currently hold a 4.0 GPA taking the most rigorous courses my high school offers. I am taking 2 AP classes my sophomore year (including AP Psych, where I am one of 3 sophomores). I am very diligent when it comes to getting work done and rarely procrastinate. Because of this, I am on track to graduate at the top of my class. I am also active in my school's extracurriculars, serving as a representative on my student council and participating in a couple of other clubs. 

     My goal is to find a school where I can be a part of a hard working team that allows me to grow as a swimmer and as a person. Although swimming after high school is not a necessity, it is something I think I would enjoy and benefit from. Both of my parents participated in sports in college and took away many positive memories from their experiences.
