Personal Statement
I remember going to figure skating practice and looking at through the windows to the pool. I remember thinking, “that’s what I want to do.” When I was 9, I started my journey to becoming who I am. Swimming has taught me many things like being a team player, being confident, and being a leader. Throughout my high school career, one of my coaches told, “when you said, your freshman year, ‘put me anywhere that will help the team’ that is what it takes to be a leader.” I always take a bad swim time and turn it into a lesson. I am always willing to learn and want to improve. I am so glad I made the choice to swim and develop as a person.
