Personal Statement

Swimming has been a huge part of my life ever since I was seven years old. Through swimming, I have met not only my best friends but my love for the sport as well. It has taught me not only to push myself to achieve my goals but also become a leader for my other teammates,.Through this, I truly believe that I have become a better version of myself. This past high school season a big thing that my coaches really wanted my team to focus on was Grit. Grit is having a passion and perseverance for long-term and meaningful goals. This idea of Grit has helped me in so many ways with not only achieving my goals in the swimming pool but also accomplishing my goals in the classroom as well. I am beyond excited to find a college that will challenge me both in and out of the pool. I can’t wait to start my next journey with my new swim “family”.
