I started swimming in 3rd grade, but due to traveling around a lot, I didn’t get to swim consistently. I have swam most of the time overseas in Japan, with amazing opportunities. Now my opportunities are limited due to us not having a pool sometimes and not having ideal swimming schedules to keep us constantly competing as often. I work with what I have and plan to continue to work with it. I’m hoping for my senior year to enjoy the last year and focus on my individual events for state especially after a less-than-stellar junior year and with my coaches and parents' help, I see that as a possibility. Something important to me is not only a school that prioritizes swimming but also prioritizes family/team bonds. I come from small teams that are built on these relationships and it's something that helps me a lot when swimming. I also value a coach who knows how to push us but is also there for everyone. I have had bad experiences with high-school coaches that have made swimming a bit harder, but thanks to my amazing club coaches I get to pursue the opportunity to swim in college with their help. I have had 6 coaches in 4 years and have moved schools for my senior year of high school to pursue a better athletic and academic environment. With this being said this year will be a tough year swim wise as I am on a new team, have a new coach, and new mentality towards swimming. I have not had the best environment for growing and pushing myself as a swimmer, but with the right coaching I believe I can be even greater than I am now. I am key on learning and improving my skills all the time and I think college swimming would be no different.
