Saige Murphy '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Saige Murphy. I started swimming on a swim team when I was four years old. I first learned how to swim when I was six months old. My mom told me that I was one of the only babies in that class that would laugh instead of cry every time I was dunked under the water. This is when my mom thought I would be a water-bug. Through my years of swimming, many people, over and over, describe me as kind, friendly, outgoing and humble. I absolutely agree with those who describe me with those adjectives. When you first meet me, I am the kind of person who will set a good impression and try to make you laugh. I get along with most everyone I meet. Being friendly is a very important characteristic to me.  I like making new teammates feel welcome and making them feel like they will have an smooth transition to our team. Along with making people feel welcome, I am a great leader. I love having people look up to me, coming to me when they need help, or have a problem. I want not only myself, but other people to succeed, which is why I like to consider myself as a leader.
