My goal is to attend a university with a strong academic reputation which also provides me the opportunity to swim at the Division 1, 2, or 3 level. Although I am unsure as to what field of study I will pursue in college, I recognize the importance of being in a challenging academic environment which will provide exposure to a variety of academic disciplines. I am currently taking Honors level classes, and am enrolled in the Early College Academy of St. John Vianney High School. This program will allow me to graduate in June of 2019 with an Associates Degree from the top ranked community college in the state of New Jersey, along with my high school diploma. I have also been fortunate enough to attend St. John Vianney High School on a partial academic scholarship awarded to me upon my admission to the school.
I also hope to be part of a swim program which will allow me to continue my athletic development while also creating close bonds with my teammates. I have shown a steady development from the time I began swimming competitively six years ago at age ten for the Red Bank (NJ) YMCA Aquarockets, qualifying for both short and long course New Jersey Junior Olympics in my first season, long course Eastern Zones at age twelve, and long course Nationals at age 14. Additionally, I was named team Most Valuable Player of my high school's varsity team freshman, sophomore, and junior years. I have also qualified for both short and long course Nationals for the past two seasons, and look forward to the stiff competition I will face. One of my favorite memories from the past six years is celebrating with my Red Bank teammates after winning the Long Course YMCA National Championships this past long course season. I hope to have many more opportunities to celebrate with teammates after pulling together as a team to achieve a common goal. I also hope to ultimately find a university where I can contribute both academically and athletically during my four years there, while also creating friendships with teammates and classmates in general.
