Hello, My name is Maahishee Patel and I have been swimming since I was 5 years old and have loved the sport ever since. I am very dedicated to the sport and am always determined to improve my times. I have always been aware of my faults knowing that I am not the fastest person in the pool. I look up to the faster swimmers I meet and compete against, using them as motivation to keep improving and to keep going. I will endure any kind of training to get better because I don't view it as extra "work" or "pain" but as a part of something that I love doing. I will always aim higher and try to achieve more, not only in swimming but also in other aspects in life. That is why I remain top of my class, have been Class President for all my time in high school, tutor kids in my community, organize events for awareness on heart health, work for the NJ Red Cross as both a Blood Donor Ambassador and a New Jersey Youth Council Member, and take on many other leadership and educational roles. I aspire to continue to competitively swim in college not only because I want to keep improving but also because it is a source of outlet for me during hard times, such as my father's passing, and is something that I will forever love doing.
