My long term aspirations are to continue my passion for swimming as well as pursuing my dream career of becoming a CRNA. Swimming allows me to be my best self and constantly be surrounded by people who act as my family. While I would love a family in the swimming environment, I want this for a school as well. I am interested in a school that challenges me mentally, as I have a strong desire to learn, and I want to be with others who feel the same. I am planning on completing four years of college and earning my BSN. Overall, I hope to be with people who are dedicated to learning and swimming as much as I am and that I get to share experiences with people I can call my family during my journey of becoming a nurse.
I see myself as a leader amongst my peers. I am a versatile swimmer and I am able to compete in multiple events. Same concept applies to academics. Thus, my ability to constantly be learning allows me to have many things to teach to my team. I accept challenges that others often choose to avoid, such as competing in my weaker events. Also, I'm always sure to encourage my teammates prior, during, and even after their races. Actions like these inspire teammates to always try their best and ultimately builds their confidence. As a team leader, I understand that confidence and inspiration is important to team performance, but what truly makes a team is the relationships we have with each other. When around our teammates, we should always feel comfortable being our true selves.
I am a selfless individual that always put my team before myself so that my team as a whole is successful. I remind my teammates that our losses can also be seen as victories since we all tried our very best. I have also been a swim instructor for over 3 years and I assist my teammates with technique during practices. Outside of swimming, I volunteer at the hospital doing basic tasks such as temperature checks and filing charts to help healthcare workers. My ultimate goal is to attend school and do what I love the most: helping others, and ensuring that they are making every effort to do their best.
