Growing up I played many sports, but swimming has always been my favorite. I started swimming on the Jersey Gators when I was 7 years old and have been on the team ever since. As my college years grow nearer, I have begun to picture myself at a school where I can excel in both the classroom and the pool. Being able to swim in college has been one of my highest aspirations throughout my years of swimming. I am ready to put in the hard work and dedication it requires. I am devoted to my academics, athletics, and extra-curricular activities. I have set lofty goals for myself and I am determined to achieve them. I try my best to be a good team leader by encouraging my teammates. My closest friends are those who I swim with every day and because of this we can have a fun time while also pushing each other to do our very best. I am always open to hearing how I can get better and work as hard as I can to drop time. I believe that I have been successful with my swimming because I enjoy it so much. I always look forward to going to practice and meets, and because of this it makes the hard work and outcome more enjoyable. In the classroom, I am extremely dedicated to my studies and work my hardest to achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.6 on a scale of 4.0. I am a Senior at Mount Saint Mary Academy in Watchung, NJ. In addition, I use my love for swimming to help others with disabilities and volunteer at a local pool where I give lessons and aid people who need help in the water. I plan to stay involved with this kind of program because I enjoy it so much. In the summer, I coach a swim team at Manor Park Swim Club in Westfield, NJ where I am also a lifeguard. This is a very rewarding job as I get to teach young kids how to swim and watch them gain the confidence in the water that they need to start swimming at a more advanced level. I want to attend a college where I can challenge myself in my studies and in swimming. I am welcoming to all options and hope to find a school with great academic opportunities and also where I am swimming at the highest level possible. My positive attitude, desire to improve, and genuine love for swimming will benefit your swimming and diving program. My NCAA ID# is: 1601384630.
