I have been swimming ever since 4th grade when I first joined the Aquastorm Club team, I've always loved being in the water whether it is racing or even just being at the lake. I fell in love with being a sprinter after I made it to the midwest zones swimming competition as a 6th grader. It was really eye-opening due to the fact that I wasn't the fastest compared to the out-of-state swimmers which then made me want to work even harder at being the best. I joined the high school swim team in 7th grade and have been swimming on varsity since the 8th grade. My 7th-grade season taught me many lessons making me believe that I can't just expect to be fast, I have to work for it and put in the effort. That brought me into my 8th grade High school season when I worked hard and then qualified for State in the 50 and 100 free. Swimming takes a huge part in my life because it keeps me motivated and it helps me be determined and keeps me being aggressive. The high school team I am a part of has won 6 consecutive state titles. Our coach recently just retired after coaching for 45 years. The team this year has had to cope with having a new coach and doing things differently this year. I am just a sophomore on the team but I am one of the fastest and I have to be a team leader so this new 2021 season has been pushing me to the limits and pushing me to do my personal best so we can pull through with our 7th consecutive state title. I hope to have my name on the recorded board before the end of my high school swim career. I am always making sure swimming is a top priority but school will always come first. I always am organized and staying on top of things.
