From a young age, I have always loved being around the water. I started swim lessons early on and began to swim competitively in 4th grade. I qualified for my first club state team in 5th grade and joined the highschool swim team two years later. Under the guidance of my high school coach, Kathy Aspaas, I grew immensely in the sport and qualified for my first high school state meet in 8th grade, placing 6th overall in the 50 free and 7th in the 100 free. This was the point when I realized I could take my swimming to the next level.
Through swimming I have learned the importance of having mental toughness, being a team player and pushing my physical limits . Swimming has provided me with opportunities to develop time management, communication, and leadership skills which will benefit me in college and throughout my career.
Currently, I'm enrolled in high school AP and Honors courses and strive to excel in my academics. I enjoy volunteering for community service projects and am a member of the National Honor Society. I hope to major in the medical field in college. In the 8th grade I qualified for the 14U Central Zones and have since qualified for Sectionals in both long and short course. Both my high school and club teams have been state champions for the last 5 years. I'm looking forward to being part of a college team that will help me develop and continue to grow as a student and as an athlete.
