This past highschool season was my first year doing swim. My sophomore year I injured my knee during cross country and I was extremely devastated, I thought that highschool sports were not an option for me anymore until I learned about the swim team at my highschool. My first two weeks at swim were the hardest two weeks, I didn't think the sport would be so difficult. After competing this past season I grew to love the sport. Injuring my knee, I learned that I needed to focus on the things I was able to do which included giving everything my all and being the best athlete I could be. Swimming for me is my medicine and fuel to conquer day to day challenges. Without swimming I know that I would not be the student I am in the classroom. Sports push me in the classroom and as an individual. I have a 4.0 GPA but more to that I am a determined athlete and student. I am participating in club swim this year for the first time and I am still perfecting all of my strokes but I am determined to get better and excel. I know every single day I can get better. My goals are to become a faster and more technical swimmer. Every time I am in the water, I am pushed mentally and physically which is why I want to pursue swim in college. I love challenges and I am ready to be challenged at the next level.
