My name is Aizza Schirg. Swimming has always been a part of my life. My first competitive race was at six years old and I cannot imagine my life without swimming being a part of it. Recently, I thought about my swimming career ending next year. That led me to begin looking at collegiate swimming. While I may be late to the recruiting table for the Class of 2025, I believe that I have much to offer a program in and out of the water.
Currently, I am a junior at Fairbanks High School. Fairbanks is a small school district in Central Ohio. I have lettered both years as a swimmer and qualified for districts my sophomore year in both the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM. My personal record in the breaststroke came at districts with a 1:17.91. I am excited to continue my growth this season!
In addition to competing at Fairbanks, I swam with the Greater Columbus Swim Team and the Hurricanes at the Union county YMCA.
Outside of the water, my faith, family, and education are my priorities. My family belongs to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. I am also an active member of our local Young Life group. Over the last three years, I have taken honors, College Credit Plus, and Advanced Placement courses to prepare myself for college coursework. My weighted GPA is 4.1 and I am 25th out of 106 in my class. This year, I have completed an internship with Memorial Health where I also volunteered the past two years. During my second semester, I will be completing another medical internship. At school, I have also been a three-year varsity football cheerleader, a National Honor Society member, a member of Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and a member of Science Club. Our family also participates in 4H. For the last several years, I have been an officer in our chapter.
Thank you for taking time to learn more about me. I look forward to connecting with you to learn about your school and swimming program.
