I started my swim career at the age of 11 after begging my mom to let me try out for the Oakville Swim Club. She relented after numerous appeals and I have been swimming since 2014. I swim all events but specialize in backstroke and freestyle (sprinter). I am a Canadian senior national qualifier and a development carded athlete with Swimming Canada. I am also a club record holder in multiple events with my former club, the Oakville Aquatic Club, and for my current club, Markham Aquatic Club, where I have been training since June 2020. I swam at the Canadian Olympic Trials where I had top 10 finishes in both the 50 free and 200 backstroke.
I have traveled extensively as a swimmer with Swim Canada (Vancouver, age 14) and with Swim Ontario (Japan, age 15). I have traveled as a team and solo to many international training camps during the Christmas holidays and Spring breaks.
I am interested in studying biology, kinesiology, and/or psychology at university. I have been placed on the honor roll since 2018, and was awarded student of excellence in 2017. Due to COVID, my SAT exam has been delayed until December 2020.
I am looking for a University where I can continue to develop as a swimmer. I want to help my team win championships and hope to return to Canada to continue to compete at an international level. My ultimate goal would be to represent Canada at Paris 2024.
