Swimming has always been a major part of my life. I started swim lessons by the age of 3 and started competitively swimming for my local YMCA team at 7 years old. I went to districts and states for YMCA swimming from the age 8-12. After this I switched to a USA swimming team and eventually started high school swimming. All four years of high school I qualified for WPIALS and States. Placing all four years at WPIALS and placing at States my senior year. I have also qualified and competed at Sectionals,Futures, CSCAA and for the MAC conference meet.
I became interested in swimming just through family and friends being involved with it. I am glad I gave it a try and happy with my choice till this day. This sport has taught me a lot of things about myself. I have learned that I can't always rely on other people to push me and that I need to always have a good mindset or I will get nothing done. I also have noticed how much more positive I am toward myself and that by thinking negatively won’t get you anywhere. Also, learning how I am my only obstacle in my own way and how I will have to over come that to be the best version of myself for not only my team but my myself. I have definitely had to overcome many obstacles from where I am at today, athletically and academically. Some were harder than others but I accomplished them and are past them now.
