I have been training year-round for the Mount Pleasant Aqua Club for the last 8 years, and I am approaching my fourth and final year of being a member of the Mount Pleasant Varsity Swim Team. I am a sprint freestyler, my main events being the 50 and 100 freestyle. My goals for next season are a 24 in the 50 and a 56 in the 100. I’ve been extremely dedicated to swimming throughout this pandemic; from swimming in circles in my backyard pool to traveling 40 minutes to another town’s YMCA when our team faced shutdowns.
I am a three-time WPIAL and PIAA qualifier, and I hold two records at my high school with my teammates for the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Freestyle Relay. I was a member of the winning WPIAL AA 200 Freestyle Relay last season, which happened to be my school's first ever WPIAL relay title!
I held a 4.0 cumulative GPA through my first two years of high school. I finished my junior year with a 4.33 GPA with weighted AP classes. I am a member of three academic honor societies: National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and National Art Honor Society. I also serve as President of the National Art Honor Society. As a senior, I was recently nominated out of the top 5 in my class to serve as a Student Representative for the Mount Pleasant Area Board of Education. In November 2020, I scored a 1080 on my SAT, and I plan on retesting in the fall of my senior year.
As a junior, I served as Co-Captain of the girls’ varsity team, and I plan to be nominated as Captain this upcoming season. I have been volunteering as manager of the Mount Pleasant Junior High swim team for the last three years. I also volunteer often for the Mount Pleasant Varsity Wrestling Team by helping out with concession stands and fundraisers. During the summer of 2021, I worked as a certified lifeguard at a nearby campground.
I recently decided that I am interested in pursuing a career in Multimedia Design. I am looking for a school with a strong art/design program to help me achieve this goal. I believe that continuing my passion for both art and swimming is the best path I can take for my college career.
