I started swimming from a very young age thanks to my older brother’s involvement in the sport. I fell in love with it then and have been in love with it ever since. Unfortunately, at the age of eight or nine my parent had me switch schools to better my education because the curriculum's were so different at my old school my parents took me out of swimming so that I could catch up to my peers. In grade four I stopped swimming for three years. In grade seven, my parents had finally convinced my parents to allow me to swim again I didn’t know it would be so hard to get back into the sport I was way behind my peers but I pushed to get back and eventually I did this was one of my biggest setbacks in my life but gladly I overcame it thanks to my determination, passion for the sport, my parents support, and faith in God.
When I swim all my worries and stresses are washed away as I enter to water, it’s such a great feeling. I get a similar feeling when I do outreach and help others. I love to go on mission trips with my church over the summer. My goal in life is to continue to swim through college whiles studying to find a way that I can continue to help others in whatever profession I choose, and my faith in God will help me, but as James said “faith without works is dead.” Therefore I plan to put in the effort to achieve my goals as well.
